My First American Concert
The dictionary defines the word fangirl as an obsessive female
fan. But if you ask me for the definition of this term, I'll give you a one-word
answer and that one word will be my name. I have always been obsessed with musical boy bands. I can name a
few of them like Jonas Brothers, Big Time Rush, One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, BTS and GOT7.
While I'm naming these boy bands, I can assure you that I know everything about
the members of these six boy bands from their date of births to their favorite colors. So,
when I got the chance to go to the Jonas Brothers' concert in Columbus last
week all I could think of was the distress that I was in when they broke up and the happiness that
I felt when they came back together never even imagining that I’ll get
to see them in person. It was
a dream of mine.
The concert was on September 5,
2019 in the Schottenstein Center in Columbus. My roommate and I reached the
venue a bit late because I wasn't feeling well and the car ride wasn't that
comfortable either but we came just in time for the opening act, Bebe Rexha.
She was amazing as always. The fact that western artists
especially boy bands aren't
that famous in Pakistan was one of the reasons why I was so surprised to see so
many Jonas Brothers' fans in one place. I kept getting shocked whenever I saw someone
wearing their merch. And as of me, I had all the set-list memorized already so I was prepared for
everything that they were going to perform. One of my biggest fears is to embarrass
myself while dancing and singing in front of other people and that night was
one of the nights when I was drunk on music and danced like nobody was
watching.
All three of them were amazing, they never let the energy in the
room go down, the lighting was great and the whole concert was very
well-managed. The fact that Jonas
Brothers reunited after six years and I got to see them will always remain one
of the highlights of my time here in United States. My dream actually
came true.
Farwa,
ReplyDeleteThis warmed my heart so much! I am a HUGE fan of boy bands as well, and definitely have seen One Direction four times. I love concerts so much and I'm so glad that you got to experience one that is so big and exciting for everyone that managed to get tickets to go! It's such a crazy thing to think about that we are still so in love with the Jonas Brothers, but also exciting that they're out of retirement and performing again!
